The famous and unwelcomed phrase we hear from others when we talk about bringing our littles to Disney.
Being a mother of two who lives 2 hours from Disney, I heard this often. I felt the judgement, heard the criticism, and dodged the failed attempts to shame me as a new mom. But let me tell you something… it didn’t stop me. And god, I’m glad I never listened.
My first trip to Disney with daughter was when she had just turned one. It was one of the most magical moments I have ever had as a mom. I got to live Disney through my daughter’s eyes. And oh, what an incredible gift that was.
Since then, we have returned too many times to count and excitedly await our next trip in September with my now 2 and 6 year old.
So book the trip…. WITH the littles! And if you feel stressed or overwhelmed with what to pack - take a look at my must haves.
- Diaper bag / backpack
- Wet ones! (Cleans hands, faces, tables)
- Snacks (saves you a fortune at the park)
- Small lunch bag for milk, uncrustables, juice, fruit, water, whatever you like
- Easy apply sunblock
- Electronic fans if you go anytime in the summer
For those with little littles, remember there is a baby care center at most parks that offer a quiet space for nursing or rocking your babe. They also have a kitchen and shop where you can buy literally anything you need.
If are a frequent Disney traveler, don’t forget that popcorn bucket and bubble wand you purchased on your last trip!
And one last tip - take pictures. Sharing the memories of our first trip with my now 6 year old is something I will always cherish. Enjoy the memories moms & dads! You won’t regret it.

Howdy friends! Happy to chat anytime if you need advice on a situation, want feedback on a social media push or whatever I can do to help you operate at the top of your Travel Advisor game. Also, if you know of an opening to play Sorcerer Mickey at Fantasmic!, my schedule is wide open.
